After spending most of my career as a copywriter and creative director, I made a literal
leap and earned my Personal Training Certification from the National Academy of
Sports Medicine (NASM).
I’ve always been interested in the significance of physical activity and whole food
nutrition on health and wellbeing. I spent several years with an advertising agency that
worked exclusively with senior living communities and talked with hundreds of “active
older adults” across the nation. I saw first-hand how lifestyle, even more than genetics,
impacts healthy longevity. I also saw the benefits that come from being part of a
community of people who bring out the best in you. That’s what you’ll find at Rare
Breed.
My husband and I have lived in Brookside for 30+ years. Some of you may recognize
me as the “toy store lady” from my glorious tenure at BKS Toy & Science. We raised
three kids here who now live in other cities but are proud to call Kansas City home. At
this moment in my life, some may say I’m over-the-hill. From my perspective, there are
hills to climb at every age, in every stage of life. But by reaching up and out, growing
stronger, more sure-footed, and surer still of your true self — you see the high points
and all those incredible views. I’d say instead, I’m over-the-moon to be part of the
growing Rare Breed community. Come join me.
